Sustainable & Ecological Fine Gardening Services
Planting, Garden Care, & Maintenance.
My services are customized to client or garden needs, budget, and season. I will always be ecologically focused, using organic and sustainable methods as well as what’s best for plant health.
-
I offer a full range of experienced planting services. Projects can be as simple as adding a plant to existing gaps in your garden, and replacing ailing plants or as complex as redoing areas or replacing sections of lawn with plantings.
If desired, I offer plant purchasing, pickup, and delivery.
-
I provide experienced light pruning and deadheading services for herbaceous plants, shrubs, and trees under 6ft. Light, natural shaping is also available upon request.
-
I love weeding and am very experienced with plant identification. Allow me to care for your garden by removing weeds to enhance your plants health.
Transplanting needs can be discussed if you have too many volunteer plants crowding an area, have something in the wrong spot, or just need a plant moved to a different location.
-
I provide ongoing care and garden maintenance fit to your schedule and your garden’s needs. Do you primarily take care of your garden but just need a helping hand once in a while? Looking for a garden touchup? Want some weeding done occasionally and mulch spread? Or need me to take full management and responsibility for the needs of the space as weeding, care, and pruning arise?
I’d love to help and will treat your garden with the love and care that I would give my own. My scheduling is flexible, and can either be regular or intermittent.
Garden Coaching, Consultation, & Design.
Let’s create your dream space together!
Garden Coaching
My one-on-one garden coaching is perfect for clients of any skill level and gardens large or small. Coaching is tailored to your desired project or garden’s needs. A typical coaching client and I will work together - planning, planting, and/or care-taking the space. During this time I will guide our work together and give instruction and suggestions on the proper approach, adapted to your garden.
Consultation
My garden consultation encompasses a wide variety of client needs and can be specific in nature or a generalized overview of what’s going on in your yard. Houseplant consultation is also available. Often, scheduling a consultation is a great first step as we figure out what kind of services your space requires.
I can identify a wide range of plants addressing desirability or invasive/weed status, plant appropriateness for location and lighting, discuss pest, watering, plant health or disease issues, provide suggestions for light pruning and plant care, explain what seasonal tasks your garden needs, and any other design or plant recommendations you may want for your yard.
Design
I specialize in informal, on-the-fly plant designs and curated plant lists. This is best for yards with already existing hardscapes and garden beds, as I do not do formal landscape drawings or hardscape design. On-the-fly design means that we walk around the project together and discuss aesthetics and what’s appropriate for the space and lighting, while I make plant suggestions based on these needs.
Pricing for any rough plans or plant lists vary based on the project. Please inquire to see examples of my informal designs.
Container Design and Planting.
I offer unique container plantings and design tailored to your aethestic, the pots, and your space. Containers can be altered seasonally or for winter holidays. If spaces are used year-round, evergreen plants can be incorporated to keep things green during the winter.
I specialize in creating distinctive looks with perennial, pollinator/ hummingbird friendly, and edible elements such as ornamental herbs.
Container services provided can include any mix of informal or on-the-fly design, plant purchasing/pickup, installation, and on-going care.
Backyard Habitat Conversion & Creation of Edible, Pollinator, and Bee Friendly Landscapes
As an ecologically based gardener, my passion is in creating PNW pollinator, wildlife, and bird friendly habitats within your garden. My years of experience performing habitat conservation in places like Yosemite and the Grand Canyon give me a specialized point of view to help you in your habitat journey.
Accompanying that passion is my love for incorporating edible herbs, flowers, and vegetables into landscapes. I am an avid vegetable gardener in my off time and would bring that knowledge and excitement about growing my own food to your space.
All of my above consultation, coaching, design, planting, and care services can be easily utilized and incorported into any habitat or edible landscape work I do.
